Houghton and Wyton Neighbourhood Plan Referendum - 1 March 2018

A Neighbourhood Planning Referendum for Houghton and Wyton will be held on Thursday, 1 March 2018. The polling station at the Memorial Hall, St Ives Road, Houghton will be open from 7am to 10pm.

Residents in Houghton and Wyton will be asked to vote YES or NO to the following question:

"Do you want Huntingdonshire District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Houghton and Wyton, to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

Poll cards will be sent out for this referendum. You must be on the register to vote in this referendum and if you are away on the day of the poll you will need to arrange to vote by post or proxy. The deadline to register to vote in this referendum is Tuesday, 13 February 2018.

If you can't vote in person you can apply to vote by post, or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. If you wish to apply for a postal vote, please note that we must receive your application by 5pm, Wednesday, 14 February 2018. If you wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, the deadline for applications is 5pm, Wednesday, 21 February 2018. Local elections 3 May 2018

On Thursday 3 May 2018, elections will take place in all district council wards and town/parish councils. This will be the first time that all district, town and parish council seats in Huntingdonshire are contested at the same time.

There will be 52 district councillors elected to represent 26 revised wards and 650 town and parish councillors elected to represent 71 town and parish councils.

Polling stations across Huntingdonshire will be open from 7am to 10pm.

You must be on the register to vote in these elections and if you are away on the day of the poll, you will need to arrange to vote by post or proxy. The deadline to register to vote in these elections is 17 April 2018. Register to Vote.

If you wish to apply for a postal vote, we must receive your application by 5pm, Wednesday 18 April 2018. If you wish to stand as a candidate in these elections please visit The Electoral Commission for more information. Nomination forms will be supplied to all town and parish councils and are also available from the elections office by emailing elections@huntingdonshire.gov.uk.

The final date to submit nomination papers is 4pm, Friday 6 April 2018.
