Celebratory trees

You can apply to have a tree planted on HDC-owned land to mark a significant event or as a celebration of a loved one. A celebration tree can be planted for many reasons such as births, anniversaries, milestones, memorials, celebrations of life and achievements.

Packages

A celebratory tree in a preferred location - £600 per tree

This covers the cost of a tree that will be 3-4 metres high, the supports and strapping and a two-year watering program to ensure its survivability. Once planted, there is a 2-year replacement guarantee if the tree doesn't take or is vandalised.

The higher cost for a tree at a preferred location is due to watering and young tree maintenance costs. The tree's survivability is a primary goal for our customers, and we want their contribution to the greater environment to survive and contribute to the local wildlife.

Celebratory woods - £300 per tree

Our new celebratory wood program, by planting multiple trees in a centralised location with access to an open water source. We have secured dedicated sites for each major town in Huntingdonshire.

The tree will be 3-4 metres high with supports and strapping, and a two-year watering program to ensure its survivability. Once planted, there is a 2-year replacement guarantee if the tree doesn't take or is vandalised.

We can offer a lower price by having multiple trees in one location and near an open water source for us to draw from. We have agreed on a location for each major town in Huntingdonshire. See the sites below.

When and where will the tree be planted?

Trees are planted between November and March to ensure the best opportunity for newly planted trees to take. We can only plant trees on land owned by us.

What type of tree will be planted?

Native trees are vital for biodiversity, offering food and habitat for diverse species. Many British endangered animals often depend on them for survival. Planting native trees supports the environment by aiding the climate and biodiversity crises, and creating a sustainable future. HDC has committed to exclusively planting native trees in celebratory events, recognising their crucial role in fostering resilient ecosystems and preserving biodiversity.

Can I have a plaque?

Yes, you can place a plaque at the base of the tree. This should be no bigger than 6 x 4 inches, and you are responsible for supplying and maintaining the plaque.
