Are you looking for an exciting and dynamic role that allows you to make a real difference in your community? We are seeking a passionate and committed individual who will play a critical role in assisting with the operation of our markets in Huntingdon and St Neots.
The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks relating to the council's market service to ensure successful and safe day-to-day operation of the markets, acting as a representative of the council and as a primary on-site point of contact for both market traders and members of the public.
About you

To be successful in this role, you must be aged 18 years or over and hold a full manual car driving licence.
The ideal candidate will have great communication skills in both verbal and written communication, with experience of working within a retail/frontline customer service environment with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
We will provide comprehensive and ongoing training, as well as support from an experienced team.
Part-time opportunities available: We will also welcome applications for individual market days on a pro-rated basis.
Contract Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week, but part-time applications considered for individual market days.
£27,185 - £28,015 - When working Saturdays and Sundays as part of your weekly contracted hours, you will be paid an ‘unsocial hours’ enhancement of 10% on your hourly rate.
We are looking for individuals to cover:
- Monday
- Wednesday
- Friday
- Saturday
Working hours between 6.30am and 4.30pm.
Location: Based at our Huntingdon Depot, with occasional holiday cover at St Neots.
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
