Job details

We are currently seeking experienced individuals from either a private or public sector background to join our planning service. As a progressive authority with a reputation for quality, we are looking for an individual to join our Implementation Team as a Senior Implementation Officer (Infrastructure Planning).

About the role

This is a two-year, fixed-term contract which provides the opportunity to be part of a key team within Planning Services and have a central role in the delivery of major projects and strategies which will shape the future of the district as a whole.

The role is ambitious and varied and involves working proactively with both internal colleagues and external infrastructure providers and stakeholders at all levels to help secure and deliver our ambitious Place agenda.

About you

Able to establish effective project management and monitoring of legal agreements and infrastructure project delivery. You'll be experienced in working in planning or associated fields and have an understanding of the political environment in which the planning system operates.

An excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills, you'll be knowledgeable in understanding viability requirements. Also working with experts to assimilate and analyse complex data in a systematic way and to distil and present information.

About the team

The Implementation Team plays a key role in delivering the new housing and economic growth to Huntingdonshire. Working alongside colleagues in Strategic Development and Planning Policy, as well as the wider development management planning teams. The team is responsible for working with colleagues and partners to identify infrastructure needs, the mitigation required, the funding package and the delivery mechanism.

Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
