We ran a consultation from 27 August 2026 to 13 September 2026, looking to renew the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for Dog Control, below are the results from the consultation.
There were 55 responses to the online consultation and 4 responses via email.
Over 80% of respondents were in favour of the continuation in Huntingdonshire of the PSPO for Dog Control.

- A requirement for a person responsible for dog(s) to remove its faeces from the land

- A requirement for a person responsible for dog(s) to keep dogs on lead in specified areas

- A person must take reasonable steps to ensure their dog is not out of control, causes alarm or distress, or attacks another animal

The main points that were raised in written answers/questions were:

Enforcement of the order - this is district council-led, with a team of officers who investigate all reports made

Targeted patrols - these are conducted in line with reports

Signage - new signage will be put up where necessary to confirm the order and requirements therein

Reporting to the district council - this can be completed online, and each report will be recorded, assessed and investigated in line with the district council’s policies.
