Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency in 2023. The Climate Strategy outlines our vision for addressing that emergency with an Action Plan designed to lead us to a net zero carbon council by 2040.

The participation of our local community is vital, with previous engagement shaping the six objectives outlined in our Climate Strategy. The Climate Conversation Events on the 17 and 18 November provided a space to learn and share ideas when tackling climate change and explore the progress we all make!

On 17 November, Huntingdonshire's community groups, business owners, farmers, town and parish councils and environmentalists gathered in St Ives for the first Climate Conversation Conference. The day consisted of a variety of inspiring local guest speakers and engaging in workshops, sharing ideas about how we can tackle Climate Change.

You can access resources from the day via the links below:

The Climate Conversation informs how HDC will lead by example and help communities shape Huntingdonshire to be better adapted to Climate Change and develop the future of net zero.

We continue to ask local people to help keep the climate conversation going. Please fill in the survey below to help us all tackle climate change together. This survey helps us gain insight by recognising the incredible climate actions already happening across the district, as well as the barriers that communities may face when trying to tackle climate change. Let's keep the conversation going!

  • What are your climate priorities?

  • What support do you need?

  • How can we support your climate actions?
