Changing Places facility update

Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC), in collaboration with St Neots Town Council, is installing a Changing Places facility at Riverside Park, St Neots. This project aims to enhance accessibility and ensure all community members can enjoy our parks.

What will the facility offer?

The facility will feature height-adjustable changing benches, hoists, and ample space for carers, exceeding the standards of conventional disabled toilets. Construction began on 15 April and is currently ongoing, with an estimated completion date in mid-July.

The installation of the 'Changing Places' toilet has been made possible via a combination of grant funding secured by HDC, SNTC and Cambridgeshire County Council, including the DLUHC Changing Places Fund.

We expect increased park usage by a broader demographic, including those with severe disabilities, and positive feedback from community members and advocacy groups. This project highlights our commitment to inclusivity and positions St Neots as a forward-thinking community that prioritises the needs of all its residents.

We look forward to the positive impact this project will bring to Riverside Park and the St Neots community.
