Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) has appointed Mike Gildersleeves as the new Corporate Director for Place.
Mike will join HDC in March from the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, where he was the Assistant Director for Planning and Strategic Infrastructure with responsibility for areas such as Strategic Planning Policy, Local Plans, Planning Development and Management, and Planning Enforcement.
Mike has worked in local government for around 20 years and has also spent time at North Kesteven District Council, Isle of Wight Council and South Kesteven District Council.
At HDC, Mike will lead on the development and delivery of the council's economic and place-based ambitions for Huntingdonshire. This includes the Huntingdonshire Futures Place Strategy, to ensure the district maintains and improves its desirability as a place to live and work for residents and businesses. He will also be responsible for service areas including Economic Development, Regeneration, Housing Delivery, and Strategic Planning.
Michelle Sacks, Chief Executive of Huntingdonshire District Council, said: "Mike brings with him a wealth of knowledge and skills that will be instrumental to the delivery of our exciting plans for Huntingdonshire and our Place Strategy, Huntingdonshire Futures. He is an outstanding candidate who will keep the district's residents at the heart of his decisions and I’m sure he will be a real asset to Huntingdonshire."
"We’re all excited that he is joining our Senior Leadership Team here at HDC and I'm looking forward to working with him."
